The Company
Founded by Thom Buchanan in 2002. Hammerhouse Construction has since evolved from a small project construction company to a business executing more complex full-service construction projects with a concentration on high-end custom residential homes and renovations.
As a Green Builder, Hammerhouse Construction is committed to build healthy, resource-efficient living environments and minimize the impact of our work on the earth's environment. We recycle, conserve water and energy, and use environmentally friendly materials. We are a Build It Green Member and a LEAD-safe EPA certified company.
We work closely with the architect and interior designers to ensure that your project is exactly what you envision. We are headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, and have been fortunate to work for a diverse array of growing and thriving architecture and design firms in the following areas:

Our Founder
Thom is a Bay Area native and has a BA from Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, CA and a Degree in Illustration from the Academy of Arts in San Francisco. After having worked in advertising, sales, and construction. Thom earned his General Building Contractor B License in 2002; leading him to launch Hammerhouse Construction.
Thom's success in the construction industry is due in part to his passion for the creative process which he is able to meld with his construction prowess. Thom also prides himself in recruiting experienced and talented employees who take pride in their work and customer satisfaction, and the creative and independent mind of Thom are key contributors to the success and growth of Hammerhouse Construction
