OUR PROCESS

Our Process

We work with many architects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, we understand your needs, and have a process to support your project.  Working on a significant renovation project requires a tremendous amount of communication between the client, architect, and builder. There are countless decisions to be made, and they all have to be made in an appropriate timeframe to ensure the project schedule is met. In addition, clients need to know how these decisions may affect the budget and/or timeline.

 

Hammerhouse Construction is open to connectivity at all levels of the process - pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phase.

Our Construction Process

 

We are often invited to join the project team during the pre-construction phase. Allowing us to work closely with the client and architect during this critical planning period when our input is needed in order to develop a preliminary construction schedule and budget estimate. Some of the activities executed at pre-construction level are the following:

  • Interface with Architect/Designer throughout the design process, providing cost analysis at each design phase (Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents).

  • Project specification coordination with Architect/Designer; develop Scope of Work documents.

  • Produce a Project schedule.

  • Produce final project budget document (Schedule of Values).

Pre-Construction:

  • Produce a Project schedule.

  • Produce final project budget document (Schedule of Values).

  • Once the scope of work has been determined, plans are finalized, and a budget has been agreed to, we sign a detailed contract and agree upon the start date.  From start to finish, we understand the construction project can be stressful. Our crew will treat your home with care and is respectful of your privacy.

 

  • If necessary, we take care of all the permit applications and start the work on your project. Throughout the duration of the project, we make ourselves available for questions, updates, and meetings at all times.


We have regular meetings to keep you up-to-date on the progress of your project.  Ensuring at all times that communication is maintained throughout the process.
